Printable Scripture Promises for Dark Days

Friends, I’m a little freaked out if I’m being honest. The coronavirus has even reached our little town with a confirmed case yesterday. Universities are shut down and I have a hunch that our public schools are next.

BUT GOD is reminding me that I know what to do with fear. My pastor sent out an email today filled with Scripture and I was reminded that God knows my fear and He speaks the language of peace.

I remembered this “dark days” Scripture set that I created years ago but don’t have listed in my shop anymore. It’s full of Scriptures that seem timely.

I’m sharing this printable Scripture set with you in the hopes that God’s word will wrap us up in His peace, the kind of peace that guards our hearts against the onslaught of anxiety.

You can download the file HERE or by clicking the image below.

You can also check out these coloring pages + card sets for talking to kids about scary things:
Psalm 63:7
Faith over Fear
Romans 8:38-39
Psalm 94:19
The “anxious heart” set
Psalm 23 set
The “comfort and hope” set

Would you comment below if there is something I can pray for you during this time? How is this virus impacting you and your community? I’d love to know practical ways God is leading you to help.

USAGE NOTES: All artwork and photos are copyright Marydean Draws. These printables are free for your personal, school, ministry, or church use. If you share this, please link back to this post and not the PDF file. Please do not repost on another website. For other uses, please contact me.

Please pray for healthcare workers who are working long hours and who are managing multiple priorities that are changing every hour.

Because I love to sew, I have been sewing face masks for the first responders in our area. The filter inside is a sized-down coffee filter. I am using some of my material that I would have used for a future quilt. It is the list that I can do for those who are risking their lives taking care of others. Please add ALL health care workers to the prayer list. This includes the people who clean the rooms, empty the trash, cook the food, etc. We are all in this together!!

Your website and blog help to keep me grounded. Thank you!

Yes, thank you Rae for the reminder of ALL the people doing dangerous work right now. Thank you for serving them by sewing masks. Blessings to you!

Welcome to the blog!

I’m Mary and I’m glad you’re here! Since 2014, I’ve been sharing encouraging words, fun Bible printables, and accessible art activities.

let’s talk about . . .

In today’s Friday Chat, I’m joined by my frien In today’s Friday Chat, I’m joined by my friend Katie to talk about my Bible study pet peeves and best practices for leading Bible studies. We have both led and been part of small group Bible studies for many years, and we talk about how our ideas about the purpose of Bible study have changed over the years.

We discuss the importance of letting the Bible be complex, keeping Jesus at the center, dealing with the fear of the discussions going off the rails, and Katie’s hot take on the importance of actually praying in our small groups. You’ll also get to hear Katie’s answer to the question, “Is Jesus a Republican or a Democrat?”

It’s a wide-ranging discussion that I found really helpful and challenging. You might agree or disagree with us, but that’s okay, because that’s the point we’re making. Hope you enjoy the discussion!
