This set is inspired by my young’s son’s fascination with game cards! This set is designed to be “playing cards” to help learners imagine what God is like through the pictures the Biblical authors used.

Each card illustrates one picture of God from Scripture and includes a main Scripture verse. Most cards include additional Scriptures to explore. Each card also includes a symbol in the upper right-hand corner.

DOWNLOADING & PRINTING YOUR FILES
Once you check out, you will be able to download your files. Make sure to save them where you can find them! You can choose to print these at a local printer (such as Staples) or at home.

IDEAS FOR USING YOUR CARDS: (these ideas are included in a printable guide when you purchase)
• Ask your learner if they are feeling sad, angry, confused, stressed, nervous, or fearful right now. Pick one of those feelings to focus on. Then ask them to pick a card that would help them imagine God meeting them in that feeling. What do you imagine God saying or doing?
• Look up the additional suggested verses on the cards. Are there other pictures of God in those verses? Do both Old and New Testament writers use the same pictures?
• Ask: What surprises you about the way God is pictured in the Bible? How do these pictures make you feel?
• Think about the life of Jesus. In what ways does he embody all of these pictures?
• Create: Use the blank coloring pages to create your own pictures of God.
• Pray the scriptures. For example, “God, thank you that when I feel afraid, you comfort me like a mother, and under your wings I can feel safe and protected.” You may want write out your prayers in a journal.
