Hello and welcome to my “all good things” post for March where I share some of the good things I’ve come across this month.
WORKING ON
I’m working on a fruit of the Spirit printable Bible verse set! Several of you have asked for this set over the years and I’m finally doing it. I’ve been googling fruits of the Middle East and researching Scriptures to go with each fruit of the Spirit. I may even include a sketch of how each fruit is grown on a tree or vine.
I’M A WHOLESALER NOW!
This is a step I’ve wanted to take for a while–to sell wholesale to retailers, and I’ve finally ordered my hymn prints and postcards, bird prints, and a few landscape prints in bulk and set up my shop on the Faire wholesale platform. If you know of a shop that would be a great fit for my art, let me know so I can reach out!
Retailers can view my shop on Faire HERE!
READING
Literarily: How Understanding Bible Genres Transforms Bible Study by Kristie Anyabwile*
This is a concise and helpful little book! Anyabwile gives a basic introduction to the Bible and then breaks down the different genres of literature found in Scripture and explains how to engage with each one. These include: law, narrative, poetry, wisdom, prophecy, Gospels, Epistles, and Apocalyptic. She teaches the reader how to read each of these genres “literarily” and gives an exercise to work through at the end of each passage.
“Whether you are new to Bible study in general or you have been studying the Bible for years, this study is intended to give you a new set of working utensils to put in your drawer of Bible literacy and provide a framework for reading and understanding a book or passage. Genre study is not a replacement for the inductive study method, but it provides additional categories for observing, interpreting, and applying the Word of God.”
Kristie Anyabwile
I’m beginning to understand better how the human origins of the Bible (its writers, their literary style and their context) enhance my understanding of its beauty and complexity and don’t take anything away from its divine origin (The Bible Project podcast has helped me with this as well).
This would make an ideal book to read with a small group!
HELPFUL
Parents Bart and Coley Glasgow from Canton, Georgia, interviewed Dr. Carol Anderson, a professor at Emory University, about critical race theory. I personally don’t enjoy all the debate over CRT currently taking place in some circles in this country, but if you want to be more informed or if this is part of the conversation around you, you may find this interview helpful.
FOLLOWING
My friend Amanda of Power and Peace Design on Instagram is a great inspiration. She creates Scripture art including colorful postcards, cards, and wall art–in printed and printable versions. I admire the way she has pursued expanding her business and engaging on Instagram. She is also just a lovely person!

THANKFUL FOR
I told you a few months back that we left a church recently that was very dear to us. We are thankful for a new church in town where we are challenged and beginning slowly to plug in. This is a big praise!
ART EXHIBIT
My landscape art exhibit is up at the James Madison Arboretum for the months of March and April.
Thanks for reading through all these good things!
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:26-27 ESV)
